MUSIC
Maurice Ravel, "Bolero"

Inspired by Maurice Ravel's iconic score, Bolero Chicago is a large-scale choreographic event created and danced by local community members, which celebrates, examines, and deconstructs the city and local traits and stereotypes. Guided by KEIGWIN + COMPANY, Artistic Director Larry Keigwin and his dancers, Bolero Chicago is a highly collaborative creative process allowing the participants to share and reflect on their lifestyles, capturing the uniqueness of life in Chicago. The centerpiece of KEIGWIN + COMPANY's community engagement efforts, Bolero Chicago serves as a way to deepen audiences' experience with dance, allowing participants to explore their own creativity and physicality and transform themselves into performers.
